Institute
The Laboratory for Translational Epigenetics has been located on the campus of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Cologne since 2014 and has been organized as an independent institute since 2018. Prior to this, it was located at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics in Berlin-Dahlem, which is known in particular for the development of high-throughput sequencing technologies and their application to tumor genomes. The proximity to the Cologne Faculty of Medicine, but also the close connection to the Center for Molecular Medicine (ZMMK) and the link to the Cologne Center for Genomics (CCG) enable a new positioning of the institute with a focus on clinically relevant basic research.
